I painted ‘Elastics’ in January and mid Feb 2026, wishing I could be spending more time outside, and reminiscing abound childhood schoolyard memories. Playing schoolyard games such as elastics (or ‘French Skipping as its known in the UK)was a favourite of mine! In this painting I’ve aimed to capture the movement of the game with energetic marking making and a ‘shifting’ palette.
