Original
This painting is inspired by the rugged granite outcrop found on Belstone Common in the north of Dartmoor. Its high elevation means it often snows there in winter, and the beauty of the white snow on the granite is stunning. As an Australian growing up in in warmer, more temperate climes with not much seasonal variation in light or landscape, I absolutely love the drama of the four seasons here in the Northern Hemisphere, especially the drama of Winter. Capturing it in my creative work is a very real passion for me.
Medium: Oil on Canvas Board
Dimensions: 66cm x 66cm in an Oak Frame
